University of Agricultural Sciences was established in 1963 in Bangalore, Karnataka and inaugurated by Dr. Zakir Hussain, the vice president of India in 1964. The university provides education in the field of agriculture. UAS Bangalore is accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university has six colleges under it namely, College of Agriculture Bangalore, College of Agriculture Mandya, College of Agriculture Hassan, College of Sericulture Chintamani, College of Agriculture Chamarajanagar and College of Agricultural Engineering GKVK. UAS Bangalore also has one Main Research Station, two Zonal Agricultural Research Stations, 10 Agricultural Research Stations and seven Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

University of Agricultural Science offers admissions to aspirants through various entrance exams depending on the course opted by them.
